Game Review & Description: As the window of opportunity for lesser-known games grows smaller in a world of Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo and Halo, developers and publishers are made to fight harder to make their presence felt. It's a shame the industry works this way because there are some corkers out there that just wont get the play time they deserve. But one puzzler that gamers really should pay attention to is Xbox's mysteriously named Mojo! Yet another puzzler to play host to a plethora of coloured blocks, the premise behind Mojo! is - like most other puzzlers of this kind - to eliminate all blocks in a given level or stage. But what differentiates these games from one another is the method used to perform such a task. And in Mojo!, gameplay is challenging, often intense and downright mind-boggling. Here, the player simply controls a small coloured marble, which is your main weapon in the Mojo! puzzler. All you have to do is smash blocks on the playing field that match the colour of your marble - simple enough. The only problem is that every stage plays host to several different colours of blocks, and to break them, you must acquire what is called a Colour Infuser. These will change the colour of your marble, allowing you to smash increasing numbers of blocks and ultimately finish the level at hand. However, Colour Infusers don't grow on trees, and to add a real element of strategy, the developer has placed most of these gems behind other blocks, meaning the player has to pick and choose their blocks in order to reach these crucial items. Other elements come in the form of uneven playing fields and magnets, but worst of all, players will also be cursed with a time limit, necessitating the ability to work quickly under pressure. Players can in fact exceed the time allotted to them in each level, but doing so will deplete your Mojo! meter. And if this meter runs out, it's game over. And that's it. It's a tricky little puzzler, but one that's great fun and that will probably keep you coming back for more.
